Old family recipes
One of my favorite possessions is a little cookbook my Nanny Dorothy made for me when I was 13. All of it is painstakingly handwritten by her. In the cover she wrote:

To: Angela, my first grandchild
From: Nanny Dorothy
With much love. Wishing you a very happy life and hoping you enjoy cooking as much as I do. Also that some day you will try out these recipes on some VERY NICE man. Good luck!!!
Well, I’ve always been very sentimental and this means the world to me. It’s one of those things I’d run into a burning house to try and safe if I could. It’s old and fading now, and it’s before the days of acid free papers…. so it’s also turning yellow and brittle. I wanted to save these here, not only to share, but to save for my children and other family members. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do! All my love, Angela Dawn
